I was born and raised in the Dayton area and moved into the city in 2007. After experiencing it for myself, I've been compelled to fight the negative downtown narrative. I have a passion for anything written off as a "lost cause".
I feel like we have two ways to change that negative impression.
One is to increase awareness of the great things downtown and the city has to offer. Over the last 3-4 years, Dayton outlets like Mostmetro, Dayton Local and Dayton.com have excelled at that.
The other way is growth through educated discussion and big ideas. This blog isn't just for fun. I post becase there is something in the data that tells a story I don't think is being noticed. The urban core of our city is more important than ever before, people's preferences are shifting, and the status quo is no longer acceptable in such a competitive market place. Dayton's roots are firmly planted in ingeniuty, and now is certainly the time to get back to those.
In my everyday job, I currently serve as the Web & Digital Marketing Manager for Kettering Health Network. I work to improve the patient's journey and overall user experience online.
Have a question or idea about Dayton? Shoot me an email, I would love to discuss how we can continue to create a better Dayton.
